The Lord has equipped each of us with particular gifts and resources to edify the body. A role is a prescribed set of activities to be performed. A person can serve mulitple roles. This section spells out the defined roles to be performed as part of the Grace Cancer Care Ministry. Each role lists the common tasks and the particular attributes best suited for the role.


Caring


Cancer Care Provider (CCP): Person who is reponsible for providing or arranging for the support for those who are in need of help.

Primary Responsibilities

Role Attributes

•Receive placement from the CC coordinator.
•Make contact with Cancer Care Receiver (CCR) to arrange for service.
•Deliver services to CCR.
•Provide update to CC Coordinator on results of services provided.

•Feel free to involve others who want to assist.
•Be mindful of the needs of the CCR.
•Be courteous, polite, considerate, thoughtful, sincere and encouraging.
•Observe limits and the wishes of the CCR.
•Never take on more than you are capable of delivering.
•Be cautious in making promises and commitments.
•Follow through on any commitments made.



Cancer Care Receiver: Person who has been impacted by cancer and is in need of assistance and support. This person can also be the care provider for the person impacted by cancer, such as another family member(spouse, parent, child sibling, etc).

Cancer Care Assessor: Responsible for evaluating those who have requested assistance from the Cancer Care Ministry.

Primary Responsibilities

•Assist with planning for CC Ministry.
•Assign new cases of CC to assessors.
•Maintain information update on CC assessment and service delivery.
•Assign CCR cases to CCP’s.
•Assist with training, information forums, and service support for team members



Cancer Care Coordinator: Person with primary responsiblities of ensuring CCP and CCR are alingned and providing follow-up.

Responsibilities

•Assist with planning for CC Ministry.
•Assign new cases of CC to assessors.
•Maintain information update on CC assessment and service delivery.
•Assign CCR cases to CCP’s.
•Assist with training, information forums, and service support for team members.


CCM Leadership Role: Small (3-4) team of volunteers and assigned Grace pastor who are responsible for providing oversight and procurring resources for the ministry.Committed to prayer and seeking the Lord's will to be done in the activities of the ministry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate monthly meetings.
  • Work with external organizations in CC offerings.
  • Communicate role of CC ministry to Grace body and provide greater awareness on cancer and developments in the field.
  • Assist with training, information forums, and service support for team members
  • Prays for the activites and members of the ministry.
