Relay For Life Brightens the Path for a Cure

Gwinnett YOU Did It Again!
OVER GOAL AT MORE THAN $2.5 MILLION DOLLARS!!!
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Gwinnett was a resounding success due to the amazing efforts of a community who is dedicated to finding a cure. This year 368 teams, 8542 participants, and over 1843 survivors participated in the world’s largest Relay! We also had the greatest participation in the ACS Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3), more than any other Relay event, with over 512 participants!! The purpose of CPS-3 is to better understand the lifestyle, behavioral, environmental and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer and, of course, to ultimately eliminate cancer as a major health problem for this and future generations.
Thank you hardly seems adequate enough to express the tremendous impact your participation has made in the fight against cancer. In addition to exceeding our $2.5 million goal, your support of this event provided for opportunities for newly diagnosed cancer patients to meet others at Relay who have faced cancer with triumph and for caregivers to meet other caregivers who have traveled down the same path in caring for a loved one.
The money you have raised will assist in funding research, prevention and early detection education, and patient services and programs. Your financial support also provides for the American Cancer Society to be here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to meet the needs of cancer patients and their families through the 1-800-ACS-2345 call center toll free number and our web site at www.cancer.org.
If you have additional check or cash donations, please send them to the American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 260, Duluth, Georgia 30097. Donations can be made on-line or delivered to the office by August 31, 2007.
Having cancer is hard. Finding help shouldn't be. Thank for you your incredible support.
